The B+E (car and trailer) test was first introduced after changes made to the driving licence laws which came into effect on 1st January 1997. Therefore, if you passed after this date in order to drive a car or van towing a trailer (or caravan or horsebox) with a gross train weight exceeding 3500Kgs you are required by law to take B+E test. (normally towing a trailer weighing over 750Kgs gross weight).
The B+E test is officially a car test, but is carried out at a LGV (HGV) test centre by LGV examiners authorised by the Driving Standard Agency (DSA)
The test follows the same Vocational test format as an articulated LGV (HGV) test.
Many of our customers already hold the B+E licence category, but want to learn to handle and reverse a trailer correctly. We can design a course to suit the individuals needs. These courses have been highly praised by all who have taken them.
“Excellent instruction very friendly approachable staff” T.M.
“The previous company I had been instructed by, came no where near to your standard immediately from the time of my B + E assessment to the pre-test tuition I realised how much better and professional your company was” L.H.
“I have already been telling my friends about Data Academy and would have no hesitation to recommend you for courses I have not even attended due to the presentation and standard of your vehicles and premises” L. H.
